Orders, Delivery & Returns

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn’t been dispatched, we’ll always try to help. Contact us as soon as possible and we’ll let you know what we can do.

How long will delivery take and how much does it cost?

UK orders are sent via Royal Mail tracked services. We offer 48-hour (£4.95) and 24-hour delivery (£7.95), with free UK delivery on orders over £50.


While we aim to dispatch you order promptly, delivery times are estimates and may vary slightly depending on service conditions. 

International delivery costs vary by destination. Please be aware that you might have to pay an import tax or customs charge. This is unique to your country so please check this out before ordering.

Where is my order?

Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details by email. If something doesn’t look right, let us know and we’ll investigate.

Can I collect my order instead of paying for delivery?

Yes. We offer local pick up from our Wargrave office only. Just select the ‘pick up’ option at checkout. You will receive an email to tell you when your order is ready so you can pop in to collect. Collection is available on weekdays 9-2pm.

Can I return my product or get a refund?

We accept returns within 14 days on unopened and unused products. In this case we will refund the cost of the product but are unable to refund the initial postage or the return postage. Please not we can’t accept returns for Skin Wash or Nasal Sprays.

Faulty items are on us. We will pay the cost of return if the products are faulty or we have made an error.

Can I collect my order instead of paying for delivery?

Yes, if you are local and want to collect, choose 'pick up' at check out. You'll receive an email to tell you when your orders is ready so you can pop in to collect it. Collection is available on weekdays 9-3pm.

Please note that 'pick up' orders will remain in our office for collection for 2 weeks.

Are the prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes, all the prices on the website are inclusive of VAT. If you are in a VAT-exempt region please email info@active-silver.co.ukwith your order number and we will refund the VAT. On the website, VAT is often described as TAX because it’s a global site, but it means the same thing.

How is my information shared with Switch2Zero when I place an order?

We work in partnership with Switch2Zero, to offset the carbon footprint of our business and help create a greener future, by planting tree saplings with every customer transaction.

They only have access to customer emails in order to send the automated notification email that will verify ‘your purchase = plant a tree’.

Switch2Zero is the only partner we work with who send notification emails, so please rest assured that your customer data won't be shared.

I can’t log into my account. What should I do?

If you’re having trouble logging in, try resetting your password using the “forgot password” link on the login page. If the reset email doesn’t arrive, check your junk folder. Still stuck? Email us and we’ll help you get back in.

I can’t reset my password – the link isn’t working

Password reset links can expire. If this happens, request a new one or contact us directly and we’ll sort it for you.

Where do I enter my discount code?

You’ll see a coupon code box at checkout before payment. Enter your code there and make sure it’s applied before completing your order.

My discount code isn’t working

Discount codes can’t be used with subscriptions or other offers. Discount codes may be subject to a minimum basket order value. If your code still isn’t working and you think it should be valid, get in touch and we’ll check it for you.

Subscriptions

Can I subscribe and save?

Yes. You’ll save 10% on every reorder when you subscribe. It’s an easy way to stay stocked up on your favourites.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription through your account using the link in your original subscription email. Or clicking on the account icon top right of the website. From there you can change delivery frequency or update details.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel a subscription, please email us at info@active-silver.co.uk at least 48 hours before your next payment is due. This gives us time to stop the order from processing.

How do I redeem my loyalty points?

Make sure you are signed up to the loyalty programme. Log into your account to view your loyalty balance and available rewards. Scroll down until you see the redeem points button. Remember you can only use one reward per order, so either money off or a free product.If something doesn’t look right or you’re unsure how to redeem them, just email us and we’ll guide you through it.

How often should I use Active Silver products?

Usage depends on the product and what you’re using it for, however usually you can never use too much. 

Each product page includes guidance, but if you’re unsure, feel free to ask us for personalised advice.

Do I need to dilute the Colloidal Silver?

There’s no need to dilute our Colloidal Silver. It can be put directly onto skin, into ears and eyes or added to food, cooled boiled or distilled water. Avoid mixing Colloidal Silver with tap water as the chlorine content can oxidise the silver and it won't be as effective.

Do you provide dosage advice for colloidal silver?

Colloidal silver is sold as a cosmetic product in the UK and EU, not as a food supplement or medicine. For this reason, we’re unable to give dosage instructions. If you’re considering ingestion, please seek medical advice.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

Active Silver products are suitable for all skin types, including skin that’s sensitive or prone to eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea or acne. 

Our products are made with natural ingredients and are gentle. If you have sensitive skin or known allergies, we recommend checking the ingredients list and carrying out a patch test first.

Are Active Silver products natural?

Yes!! There are no additives, parabens, sulphates, alcohol, fillers or artificial preservatives in our products – thanks to the power of silver. 

Where are your products made?

All our products are handmade by us, at our HQ in Berkshire, England. We manufacture in small batches, which gives us full control over quality and freshness.

How should I store Active Silver products?

We recommend you store Active Silver in a cool, dark place and out of reach of children.


The products should not be exposed to direct sunlight.


You can put them in the fridge to prolong shelf life and for a more soothing effect (except for the lip balm), but not the freezer.


Exposing the product to high temperatures for short periods (e.g.100F / 37.5C) won't affect the quality, but do avoid storing it in the car or on a windowsill during summer.


The products should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

What about best before dates?

Best Before End dates are printed on the bottom of each product. You can still use the products after this date, it’s just a guideline to let you know when the product is at its optimum.

Active Silver is a family business, passionate about producing the highest quality and purest Colloidal Silver based products. Our products and technologies are considered to be the best in the UK. We have over 30 years’ experience and are constantly innovating and improving our Colloidal Silver techniques and are continually increasing our product range.

Are there any side effects?

If you are concerned, we would always advise you to speak to your health care practitioner. Be aware your doctor may not promote a natural remedy over a medically recognised drug.

There are very few side effects or reactions to Colloidal Silver. One exception is that Colloidal Silver, in some cases, can affect absorption of thyroid medication so we would advise you to not ingest Colloidal Silver if on thyroid medication – but it would be ok to use topically.

Very few people are allergic or intolerant to silver or gold, but if you have any concerns, try a patch test by applying a drop onto the skin. Redness could indicate intolerance.

The rapid elimination of pathogens/bad cells can sometimes initially make you feel worse. Watch for mild skin irritations, which should clear up quickly and are an indication to slightly reduce the amount.

There is also a myth that your skin could turn blue. This is exactly that, a myth. There are many home-brew kits or people who don’t manufacture Colloidal Silver correctly which give it a bad name. Argyria, a blue/grey discolouration of the skin, is a very very rare condition from over-exposure to extreme quantities of silver deposits, and is not something you can get from well-made Colloidal Silver.

Active Silver has never been reported to cause a single case of Argyria and will never do so. This is because we use an advanced manufacturing technique to produce Colloidal Silver at a concentration of 10-25ppm with a very small particle size of silver. We also never use Protein Synthesis to blend silver and water, which can cause Argyria and be dangerous.

Safety & suitability

Is it safe to use Active Silver products during pregnancy?

Our topical skincare products are generally considered safe to use. However, if you are pregnant and have any concerns, we always recommend speaking with your healthcare professional first.

Can your products be used on babies and children?

Many customers use our products on babies and children. That said, every child is different, so we suggest starting with a small amount and seeking medical advice if you’re unsure.

Can I use Active Silver products if I’m on medication?

Topical products should not interfere with medication. If you are considering ingesting colloidal silver and take medication, especially thyroid medication, you should speak to your doctor first. (Ingesting silver can affect your body’s ability to absorb thyroid medication)

Are Active Silver products regulated?

Yes. All products are independently safety assessed, lab tested and compliant with UK and EU cosmetic regulations. Being UK-based also means we adhere to UK/ European cosmetic standards. Our products are fully compliant with EU Cosmetic Regulation 1233/2009 and we are registered on the GB Cosmetics Notification Portal (OPSS).

Will Active Silver destroy the good/friendly bacteria or probiotics I need (i.e flora) in my intestines?

Assuming the right concentration has been taken, and you are using a good quality colloidal silver with very small particle sizes, it will be rapidly absorbed and dispersed through the body and/or into the upper gastrointestinal tract first, leaving very little or none to interact with the beneficial ‘good’ bacteria in our gut.
Most people have not reported that their good bacteria changed, and anecdotal evidence is that colloidal silver does not kill good bacteria. However, as there’s no definitive study it’s best to monitor your own experience and adjust accordingly.

Can I use Active Silver products on pets?

Yes. Our products are commonly used on animals, particularly for skin care, ears and eyes. We have a dedicated Pet Care range, although the formulations themselves are suitable for both humans and pets.

Is it safe if my dog or cat licks the product?

If a small amount is accidentally licked, there is no need to panic. Our products are widely used on pets. If you have any concerns or your pet has ingested a large amount, consult your vet.

Most of our products contain Aloe Vera Gel, which is made from the inner part of the aloe leaf, as this possesses the majority of the leaf’s nutrients and is therefore safe to use.

The poisonous part of true aloe is the white latex, not the gelatine held within the leaves.

Fortunately, the vast majority of Aloe Vera products you would buy, have had any toxic latex removed during processing.

Sustainability & packaging

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

Where possible, we use recycled, recyclable and biodegradable packaging. Most products are housed in glass, or PET plastic, which helps protect product quality and can be recycled or reused. 

We use recycled, recyclable and biodegradable materials, including glass bottles and jars, where possible. We strive to be the best we can when it comes to packaging our products and reducing waste.

We know there is always more that can be done, and our dedicated team continues to explore alternatives and options to make us even better in this area.

Why are our jars made from glass?

We use ‘Miron’ glass for almost all of our jars (except the 12ml pots).

Miron glass improves product shelf life and therefore preserves it’s effectiveness. It has a unique ability to protect its contents from sunlight as it filters out harmful visible light and only lets UV, violet and infrared light enter. As silver is light sensitive substance, this is fundamental to maintain the quality of our products. The miron glass can also be recycled (with brown glass)

Are the ingredients sustainable and ethical?

Yes. We only use the best natural ingredients. Every ingredient we use in our formulations has a specific purpose to naturally enhance the product. 

Are your products vegan and cruelty free?

All Active Silver products and ingredients are vegan-friendly and never tested on animals. See our declaration here. Active Silver is also PETA certified as a Vegan and Cruelty-Free brand.
